HOW IT WORKS

How the Steri System Works

The Steelhead Steri 30 Ozone System is engineered to deliver safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant water sterilization for lower volume applications. Utilizing advanced ozone technology, the system provides superior microbial reduction, ensuring that your purified water meets the highest quality standards.

Product Overview:
  • Employs ozone as a powerful sterilizing agent, offering effective disinfection while preserving product safety. Designed to handle a maximum water flow capacity of 30 gallons per minute (gpm).
  • Utilizes filtered and dried air to feed a high-voltage corona discharge cell. Within the cell, a high-voltage current ionizes oxygen molecules, producing ozone. This process is finely adjustable via a frequency control to ensure optimal production.
  • Ozone-laden air is introduced at the bottom of a specially designed absorption column. As water flows downward over high-surface-area packing material, it efficiently absorbs the ozone.
  • Treated water is collected in a surge tank to prevent over-ozonation. A stainless steel centrifugal pump then delivers the water to the point of use, maintaining continuous pressure and quality.
  • Calibrated to achieve a CT value (ozone concentration multiplied by contact time) that meets or exceeds FDA requirements. Design adheres to 21 CFR 129.3(d) and 129.8, ensuring that food-contact surfaces are adequately sanitized without compromising product safety.
